Scott Michael Foster: Weight Loss

Scott Michael Foster, who plays a college student on the ABC Family Show, Greek, recently told People Magazine about his weight ups and downs over the past year. He said that during the first season of the show he got up to 200 pounds. He explained,
“I was so happy about having a job and not having to worry about paying the food bill, I ate anything on set,” says Foster, 24. “Fried chicken, mashed potatoes, you name it. I got sucked into craft services and, yes, it was just like college!”
Then, a few months ago, he was told he was allergic to gluten and that changed a lot of his eating habits and he cut wheat and flour out of his diet.
“It runs in my family. It just got worse and worse and I was like, ‘This can’t be normal!’….I can’t eat bread, anything fried or even drink a beer.”
His diet now consists of protein, vegetables and fruit and he eliminated most milk products, including cheese. In addition, he began to exercise more rigorously and he now does spin class twice a week and kickboxing three times a week for strength training.
“I was introduced to spinning, it was so intense! It’s the hardest workout you’ve ever done and afterwards you feel amazing. The weight just started coming off,” says Foster.
He has now lost 15 pounds but he said that he still wants to lose five more pounds by the time they start filming in June. This will get him down to 180, but that does seem rather thin for a man who is 6′3. We’ll have to wait and see.
