Susan Sarandon: Ping Pong for Haiti
The 63-year-old Oscar-winnning actress Susan Sarandon has always been involved with charities through out her amazing career. Now, after the disaster in Haiti, Susan is hosting a fundraiser as SPiN New York. Similar to the spin class fundraiser that Chelsea Clinton held, Susan will host the somewhat athletic event at her social ping pong club. There will be a $20 suggested donation at the door and visitors will play ping-pong as well as have the opportunity to bid on fashion items and sports memorabilia at the auction that will go toward the Artists for Peace and Justice.
Other co-hosts include Veronica Webb, Wyclef Jean (a native of Haiti), fashion group Modelinia, Judah Friedlander, Selita Ebanks and other celebrities. It’s great to see how celebrities are using their own talents and personal interests in order to make a difference for the people of Haiti.
