Alanis Morissette: Eat To Live Diet

She no longer battles eating disorders, she recently ran the New York City marathon to support Edward Norton’s team, she also ran the Bizz Johnson Trail marathon and she has learned to eat right. She credits her weight loss to the book written by Dr. Joel Fuhrman, Eat to Live: The Revolutionary Formula for Fast and Sustained Weight Loss
. In regard to the book she said,

“I’m eating like an adult rather than like a seven-year-old at a candy store. Now around food, I can be trusted.”

Alanis Morissette to Run a Marathon

alanis-morissette-to-run-a-marathon Alanis Morissette is one fit and trim woman these days as she is often spotted exercising and eating right. Recently, she has announced that she’ll be running a marathon on October 11th, the Bizz Johnson Trail Marathon, to raise money for the National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA).  During her training for the 26.2 mile race Alanis has gotten into great shape but she told People Magazine that the training has also changed her views on food. She said,

“I’ve learned how to enjoyably fuel myself. Participating in this marathon has inspired me to treat my body like an instrument.”

Alanis Morissette: Weight Loss

Alanis Morissette is back on top!  After her 2006 engagement with Ryan Reynolds was called off Alanis did what most girls do during a break up; eat.  And then when Reynolds quickly moved on to Scarlett Johansson and the couple got married, that just added more salt to the wound.  Now, the 35-year-old rock star has lost approximately 20 to 25 pounds thanks to exercise and a book she came across, Eat to Live.  She explained,
“I saw this book, Eat to Live, and I thought, that’s exactly what I want to do. I wasn’t interested in some fad diet that was unsustainable.  So I opened it and flipped through and thought the weight loss is incidental. The primary focus is disease prevention.”
Alanis also did a vigorous fitness regime and now she has much more energy than she did before.  She said,
“I used to get out of bed in the morning and things were aching, and I just thought, this is what happens when you get into your 30s.  But now I jump out of bed and have so much energy; I feel very alive. Even after a workout, I feel like if I rest a little bit I could go out dancing all night, so that’s exciting.”
Her workout consists of a good mix of different exercises in order to keep those muscles guessing:
“I do between a half hour to an hour of light weights, running, biking, swimming, probably five times a week. I also love to kickbox and dance.  I’m back to what I was born to be, at my best.”
