It looks as if embattled pop star, Amy Winehouse, is on her way to her idea of the perfect body. The 26-year-old singer who has had a colorful history with substance abuse is packing on the pounds to achieve a “pin-up” figure.

The sober and clear-headed Amy has recently had breast implants, to give her a perkier chest after her addiction to alcohol and drugs ate away at her body. But now Amy wants to add curves to the rest of her body to go with her new assets, and is eating at least 3 000 calories a day.

“Amy’s like a machine at the moment. She just can’t stop eating. She loves T-bone steaks and fish covered in oily sauces,” a source told BANG Media International. “She has set a target to eat up to 3 000 calories a day while also doing work in the gym.”

But it may seem the “Rehab” star has an addictive personality as she is now just as serious about getting in shape as she was about hitting the bottle a year ago. Amy’s dad recently said that his daughter has installed a gym in her home and spends 3 to 4 hours in it.

Will we see a bigger Amy in future, and will she be addicted to food this time round? Only time will tell…

Grammy Award Winner Amy Winehouse has slowly been putting her life back together after battling with drug addiction. Lately she has been the talk of the town thanks to her new breast implants but her father thinks that it’s more important to note that she has been putting on weight and exercising regularly. Previously she was feared to be anorexic as she was bone thin because of the drug consumption but she now has her appetite back. Her father said,

“And they say she’s anorexic? You can see with your own eyes that she’s put on a lot of weight and how well she’s doing.”

He also mentioned that the other day when they went out for lunch that she ate heaps of healthy food at a fish restaurant and he had never seen anyone eat so much before. There is however concern that Winehouse has swapped her drug addiction for an exercise addiction but her father sees it as something good for her. He explains,

“She’s in the gym three or four hours a day. I mean boy is she fit – really, really fit. So that’s a really positive addiction.”

Well, some of us would beg to differ but as long as she eats well and eats enough she can workout all she wants.

Amy Winehouse has spent the majority of the past six months in St Lucia and for awhile everyone thought she was doing better with her battle with anorexia, drugs and alcohol.  But after her awkward performance and fall on stage last week at the St Lucia jazz festival people are beginning to wonder.  Meanwhile, over this six month time period, Amy’s family has been filming a documentary called ‘Saving Amy.’  Amy’s father said,

“I’m worried when I get a phone call from her or her security, because I don’t know what bad news I may get. But when I don’t hear from her, I’m worried as well.”

Although it seems the drug addiction has subsided people are still concerned about the excess of drinking and lack of eating.  At a welcome dinner for the film crew last month it was reported she was shaking so much that she couldn’t serve the food and during dinner she just played around with her food and didn’t eat.  Her father said,

“If you saw her in that dark room, in bed, you couldn’t believe we would be here now. But now, if it is alcohol instead of drugs – I don’t think I can go through it again. I’ve distanced myself and whatever happens, happens. It is her life. It is her decision.”

Three cheers for Amy Winehouse, hip hip hooray!  Earlier this month we saw that Amy  bought an exercise DVD produced by Spice Girl Mel-B.  We assumed that she was jumping on the exercise bandwagon at the time, but now it seems that we were right.  In an interview this week with Now Magazine, Amy explained how she has turned over a new leaf and these days it’s no drugs and plenty of healthy foods and exercise.

Here’s what she said about her trip to the Caribbean:

“I just wanted to get away from London in the winter and have a nice break in the sunshine,” she continues “I wanted to eat some good food and get physically fit, so I stayed at a really beautiful hotel with a lovely beach and a spa. Every day I’d go and have a treatment at the spa, like a sauna or a massage, and then I’d either do yoga, swim in the sea or play tennis…”

Apart from eating well and exercising, Amy also said that she has given up drugs,

“Yes, completely. I haven’t done any smack or crack since before I went out there. I’m completely clean now and I feel much better for it. Of course, the booze was all-inclusive at the hotel and I’d obviously have a few drinks some evenings, but there’s nothing wrong with that when a girl’s on holiday.”

In a different interview last week  with the same magazine Amy’s father, Mitch Winehouse, had the following to say about his daughter:

“She’s eating and can’t stop working out.  She’s a raving lunatic when it comes to the gym! We’re proud of her.”

Amy Winehouse just came out of hiding this week after spending months in the idyllic St. Lucia where she had good food, good wine and plenty of boys.  She’s back in London now, and after just one day being back in her homeland she has already decided to work off the holiday pounds she put on while staying in the tropics.  She decided to call upon her com-patriot and former Spice Girl member Mel-B.  Amy bought Scary Spice’s new Totally Fit Workout DVD in hopes of getting back into shape after months of lounging on the beach in St. Lucia and indulging in the good life.

In addition, sources say that Amy plans to clad her London home with a recording studio and a sauna room in order to practice Bikram Yoga, a form of yoga that she practiced while staying in St. Lucia.

All in all, Amy definitely has her quirks, but we’ve all got to admit, she’s awesome, and we love her music!
