valerie-bertinelli-advises-kirsty-alleyBack in 2007, it was Kirstie Alley who brought Valerie Bertinelli on board as a new spokesperson for the Jenny Craig Diet.  But now the tables have turned and it’s Bertinelli who looks like a bikini bombshell and Alley has confessed to having gained 83 pounds.  When Alley saw her friend’s swimsuit photos for People Magazine she said,

“She didn’t just look good – she looked stunning! It was inspiring.  It’s like the student surpassed the teacher, who is now over there in the corner, fat!”

Emmy Rossum Gives Diet Tips

The slender singer/actress Emmy Rossum who has starred in films such as Phantom of the Opera and Dragonball Evolution told Ok Magazine how she keeps fit and stays healthy.  When it comes to her diet her gluten-intolerance requires her to be extra careful.  She explains,

“I don’t eat wheat only because I’m gluten-intolerant, but otherwise I really try to stay away from things that are overly starchy or deep-fried. Otherwise, life is too short not to eat dessert, not to bread, not to eat rice and potatoes. I think if you exercise and are healthy, those kind of things – they’re not the devil.”

Dolly Parton on Dieting

Country music celebrity Dolly Parton recently talked with US Magazine about maintaining a healthy body weight and handling the media.  However, she didn’t give too many tips on how she maintains such a great figure.  The 63-year-old said,

“I’m up and I’m down, but I don’t have any tips for anybody.  It’s a bitch any way you look at it. You either starve or you get fat.”

Danica Patrick: Diet

Danica Patrick is an auto racing driver in the IndyCar Series.  Apart from establishing herself as a serious auto racer she has also become quite the model being featured in various magazines such as Sports Illustrated and FHM.  In May 2009 she will be on the cover of Shape Magazine and in her interview she gave some tips on diet and exercise.

Danica is 5′2″ and 105 pounds and the smallest of the Indy drivers.  Normally in racing you get a faster speed the lighter the load, but in Danica’s case she has to be strong in order to keep up with other racers.  She said,

“I have to work harder than those bigger guys to control my car.”

Faith Hill’s Healthy Lifestyle

For the upcoming May issue of Redbook Magazine, Faith Hill gave a great interview where she talked about love, marriage, health, diet and even wrinkles.  When asked about how she stays in shape it seems that for her, it’s all about healthy food choices.  She explained,

“I was aging pretty well, but I wasn’t really committed to working out and eating right,” she confesses. “And it’s not that I diet now, but I’ve just become conscious of what I put into my body, because I know what I put in it is also going to show on the outside.”

Julia Louis-Dreyfus: Exercise and Workout

Julia Louis-Dreyfus won our hearts back in the day when she played the role of ‘Elaine’ on Seinfeld.  Now, the 48-year-old-actress is still a hit, has her own show, The New Adventures of Old Christine, and she looks amazing!  Julia sports her rock-hard abs on the cover of the April issue of Shape Magazine and she told the magazine how she stays fit without resorting to plastic surgery and other invasive techniques.  For Julia, it all starts with breakfast.  She said,

“It’s hard for me to eat in the morning…..But I recently discovered something I love: two eggs fried in olive oil and a slice of whole-wheat toast with honey. It tastes so good, and I don’t get crazy-hungry before lunch—that’s when I start to make bad food choices. I’ve found the key to healthy eating is finding foods you really like. That way you don’t feel ripped off when you can’t have a fattening doughnut or whatever you’re craving.”

Vanessa Williams Diet Tips

Vanessa Williams, the 46-year-old star of Ugly Betty, recently told Ok Magazine how she maintains her figure.  She said that for breakfast she will have a half of a bagel with cream cheese and half a cup of coffee.  That’s seems like very little, but bagels are known for being packed with carbs.  Evidently, she balances her diet whenever she undergoes special training.  She said,

“When I’m in training mode, I’ll do no dairy, no sugar, but normally it depends what I’m cooking.”

Taylor Dane on Diet and Exercise

Taylor Dane, the 47-year-old former 80s pop star is now a crooner on the CMTV Gone Country 3 and she still looks as great as she did 20 years ago. In an interview with Ok Magazine she discussed her views on beauty and fitness as women approach the later years of life.  When asked her secret to looking young she did say that there is nothing wrong with a little bit of Botox and hormone replacement therapy but she also stressed the importance of exercise.  She said,

“And I’m telling you – exercise, exercise, exercise…As a woman, as you get older, you get challenged by that all the time because your body works against you a lot because we are hormonally challenged so much….I always had a lot of anxiety in my body, you know, so working out helps with that, and I believe in a lot of hormone replacement therapy. It’s worked for me successfully.”
