Because we’re all frantically running around during this time of the year, Marcos created a 5-minute total body routine, published in <em>Us</em> magazine, for which you only need your own body weight.</p>
<p>Dedicate only 1 minute to each exercise; they’re guaranteed to work your biceps, triceps, shoulders, chest, core, abs, lower back, glutes and thighs.<br />
<strong><br />
<span id="more-6672"></span>Jumping Plies</strong><br />
Begin with a regular plie – feet more than shoulder-width apart, back straight, abs contracted – lowering yourself so that your thighs are parallel to the floor (or as far as you can go). But instead of slowly straightening your knees, quickly jump up, returning to your starting position upon landing to repeat the move.</p>
<p><strong>Reverse Lunges</strong><br />
Instead of stepping forward into a regular lunge, step backwards, but make sure your back is straight and your abs are contracted. Your front knee should be directly over your heel, and then return to your original position (standing with your feet shoulder width apart) and repeat with the opposite leg.</p>
<p><strong>Push-Ups</strong><br />
There’s no variation to this classic move; just make sure you keep your body as straight as a plank and flex at the elbow. Repeat for 1 minute.</p>
<p><strong>Dips</strong><br />
With your hands beside you pressing on a flat, raised surface and your legs stretched out in front of you, slowly lower yourself as far as you can go. Push yourself back up to your starting position and then repeat.</p>
<p><strong>Side Planks</strong><br />
Start in the plank position, but with your one hand pointed up towards the sky and your other on the ground holding your body up. With your feet stacked on each other, lower your hips to the ground but keep your bottom arm locked. (This move works your core.) Then return to the starting position and repeat.</p>

As the holidays are soon approaching Borges has teamed up with <em>JCPenny</em> to offer a total-body circuit routine to keep that body in shape while feasting on pumpkin pie and cookies at those office holiday parties. He offers five simple exercises that only take five minutes where only your own body weight is to be used and not any supplemental weights.  In addition, each exercise should be done for one minute only before you move on to the next one so be sure to keep a stopwatch handy.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><strong><span id="more-6660"></span>1. Jumping Plies -</strong> Stand with feet shoulder-width apart and do a traditional squat but when you come up explode into a jump straight up into the air.<br />
<strong>2. Reverse Lunges -</strong> Stand with fee shoulder-width apart and step back into a lunge making sure to suck your tummy in and keep your back straight.  Then step back up to starting position and repeat on other leg.<br />
<strong>3. Push-Ups -</strong> You surely know this one already.  It&#8217;s a good old-fashioned exercise that works practically every body part.<br />
<strong>4. Dips -</strong> With a bench or chair behind you squat down so that your hands are on the chair.  Dip down by flexing at the elbow and then come back up to where arms are straight again.<br />
<strong>5. Side Planks -</strong> Lie in the plank position with one hand flat on the ground  with a straight arm and the other pointing up to the sky while feet are stacked on top of each other.  Lower hips to the ground while maintaining a locked arm then return to starting position.<br />

Growing up he was involved in dance and martial arts such as karate and MMA style of fighting. <span id="more-6575"></span>While on the <a href="http://www.celebritydietdoctor.com/rachel-ray-weight-gain-and-diet/">Rachel Ray</a> Show last week he revealed a bit about his martial arts and how he correlates it to his character Paul in the movie <em>New Moon</em>.</p>
<blockquote><p>&#8220;I&#8217;m a huge MMA fan, like cage fighting, things like that so I did a lot of that&#8230;.Paul, he&#8217;s volatile, he&#8217;s scrappy he just carries his weight differently, you know he&#8217;s a fighter so I thought it was just so appropriate with my background and what I&#8217;ve been doing.&#8221;</p></blockquote>
<p>Meraz and Rachel Ray went on to discuss how things coincidentally become aligned and it wasn&#8217;t just a fluke that he got the part as Paul.  Meraz went on to say that it was his birthday the day of the audition and it was also the biggest full moon of the year, hence <em>New Moon</em>, and over the two weeks he was waiting to hear rather or not he got the part he often found hawks circling overhead.  Hmmm, well, so Meraz may be a mystic but we can still appreciate his martial arts-masterd physique.<br />

<p>Hip-hop artist Eve skates her way through Drew Barrymore&#8217;s debut film, <em>Whip It</em>, a story about a women&#8217;s roller derby team.  She recently spoke with <em>Women&#8217;s Health Magazine</em> about how she prepared for the physically demanding role and how she keeps herself fit.  Eve explained that the actors went through a three-week skate camp to get roller-ready and she also worked out with a personal trainer like she normally does when she&#8217;s on the road touring.  She compared her relationship with her trainer as to the intimate relationship a woman has with her hairdresser. She prefers strength training to weight training.  She explained,</p>
<blockquote><p>&#8220;We don’t do a lot of weights, but we do a lot of push-ups, crunches, and squats — exercises that let me use my own body weight. We work out in a private gym, but we’re about to start incorporating outdoor things into my routine. I can’t wait, because I love being outside.&#8221;</p></blockquote>
<p><span id="more-6145"></span>Now that the singing sensation is 30 years old she wants to be healthy instead of being over concerned about being super skinny.  She said,</p>
<blockquote><p>&#8220;I don’t want to do unhealthy things to lose weight fast for, say, a photo shoot. I do want to feel amazing in my clothes, though.&#8221;</p></blockquote>
<p>Eve stars along side Ellen Page, Drew Barrymore, Kristen Wiig and Juliette Lewis in the much talked about movie, <em>Whip It</em>, which is in theaters now.</p>

<p><span id="more-6150"></span>His <a href="http://www.celebritydietdoctor.com/do-you-think-you-can-dance/">dance workouts</a> are what keep him fit and he has said in the past that the early <em>Who</em> concerts were like intense aerobic sessions.  The other two members of the band that passed, Keith Moon and John Entwistle, both died from drug-use, Moon from an overdose and Entwistle from a heart attack.  But for Daltrey he knows that to sing well you have to be fit, and when drugs are involved it&#8217;s impossible to be fit.  He once said,</p>
<blockquote><p>&#8220;I did try some but singers need to be incredibly fit. I wanted to be a good singer and I could not do it with drugs inside me.&#8221;</p></blockquote>

<p><span id="more-6050"></span>Anderson’s personal trainer TJ Johnson says they work out five times a week for at least one hour, focusing on one or two muscles groups per session. Although TJ keeps Anderson’s workouts varied with running, pull-ups, push-ups, box jumps and body slams, the focus of Anderson’s training is strength and endurance.</p>
<blockquote><p>“He likes upper-body work and running; his least favorites are legs and squats, but nobody really likes these. Cooper does everything, though. He&#8217;s not a whiner. He doesn&#8217;t complain,” TJ told <em>That’s Fit</em>.</p></blockquote>
<p>If you want to get a body like Anderson’s, TJ says you need to get yourself a “carb chart”, eat clean and avoid processed food. When training, TJ says you shouldn’t set a limit, instead push yourself as far as you can go. TJ’s “must-do” move is the full-body exercise that works every major muscle group: the squat-clean-press (with a barbell).</p>
<blockquote><p>“The most important thing is just getting out there every day and doing something,” says TJ. “I tell clients that a bad workout is always better than no workout. You need to have fun, too.”</p></blockquote>

<p>Celebrity trainer <a href="../harley-pasternak-diet-tips/">Harley Pasternak</a>, author of the best-selling book <em><a href="../5-factor-diet-review/">The 5 Factor Diet</a></em>, went on <em>The Today Show</em> last week and dished his secrets to helping Lady Gaga get her rock-hard abs.</p>
<p>Just before Gaga performed at this year&#8217;s MTV MVA award ceremony, Harley was with her backstage, working out! Why? Harley says when you&#8217;re wearing a costume like Gaga&#8217;s, working out just gives you that added boost to make you look and feel super confident.</p>
<p><span id="more-5743"></span>When it comes to working out with Gaga at home, Harley begins with a basic crunch. You can add variety to the very basic exercise by moving into a reverse crunch – lifting your knees towards your forehead using your abs. And if you really want, you can combine the two into a double crunch – lifting both ends of your body towards your center.</p>
<blockquote><p>&#8220;It&#8217;s not just about doing abs exercises,&#8221; Harley said on the show. &#8220;It&#8217;s mainly about eating the right foods, doing the cardio and burning the fat on top of the abs.&#8221;</p></blockquote>
<p>Harley also dished on Alicia Keys&#8217; back exercises, which build a strong, sexy and sleek back as well as <a href="../vanessa-williams-diet-tips/">Vanessa Williams</a>&#8216; barbell arm exercises and <a href="../tag/jessica-simpson/">Jessica Simpson</a>&#8217;s bench stepovers for limber legs.</p>

<p><span id="more-5571"></span>Bill explained that when he first met Giuliana during an interview with The Apprentice winner one of the first things he asked her was if she wanted to go for a run. He said,</p>
<blockquote><p>“She didn’t want to do it… But then we got into the workout [routine] soon after that.”</p></blockquote>
<p>The couple is currently preparing for for their next run, the Boo! Run for Life 10km which will support renal cell (or kidney) cancer research. The season finale of their reality series Giuliana &amp; Bill will air Wednesday, Oct. 7 on Style network.</p>

I&#8217;d love to give you more info on the rest of Scott&#8217;s tips, but my concentration dipped a bit when the camera swung around to &#8220;target his glutes&#8221;, so you&#8217;ll just have to watch the video yourself to find our more.</p>

<p><span id="more-5392"></span>Price admits to waking up at 4:30am in order to get to the gym and do her workout.  Her favorite routine is the <em>Tread &amp; Tone</em> class at <em>Pulse Fitness Studios</em>.  She explained that she&#8217;ll do 30 minutes on the treadmill where her trainer will raise and lower the incline and speed to get an optimal fat burning workout.  Then she will do 30 minutes of circuit training alternating back and arms one day with abs on the other day.  Some of the exercises she&#8217;ll do with her trainer which are higlighted in <em>Fitness Magzine</em> include:</p>

<p>To conclude, Lindsay said that her ultimate fitness goal is to someday run a marathon.  Three years ago while she was in training for a marathon she suffered an injury and had to pull from the race, but she still looks to meet her goal in the future.</p>
