Over the years Jake Steinfeld has inspired millions to get in shape. His Body By Jake series is a household name and his can-do attitude is admirable in the fitness industry. Now, he has become the first in the world to launch a digital fitness music label called Don’t Quit Music. It was reported in Muscle and Body Magazine that he said,
“I’m passionate about music. It gets me extra motivated during my own workouts, and I’ll listen to anything from Frank Sinatra to Kanye West…. When it came to fitness programs, music always seemed to be an afterthought. It was all cover artists and it sounded canned. So about a year ago I decided to get involved in the music end of things. I went to Universal Music Group and pitched them my idea of a digital fitness label, and we launched Don’t Quit! Music this past January.”
Universal Music Group creates workout mixes for all types of fitness programs such as yoga, pilates, moutain biking and weight training. Under consultation with music and fitness professionals the mixes are designed to maximize your workout. All you have to do is go to .dontquitmusic.com and there are instructions on how to download the mixes.
As for Jake, he is still as healthy as ever. The 50-year-old is quite the early bird as he wakes up at 3:45am to workout!:
“I train at 3:45 in the morning, six days a week, and my workouts are a combination of strength and cardio training. My workouts take 42 minutes and they give me all the energy I need to last the rest of the day.”

Bridget Marquardt, Playboy Playmate and one of the Girls Next Door has a new travel adventure series where she visits the world’s best beaches. Bridget spoke with Muscle and Body Magazine about her new show that debuted this spring and how she stays in shape while filming. When asked about the adventurous aspects of the show she said she was thrilled:
“It’s so much an adventure. We’ve done cliff jumping, hiking, volleyball on the beach, jet skiing, weight boarding. It’s been very cool. I’m getting my workout in, and I’m doing my dream job. What more could a girl ask for?”
When asked how she maintains her bikini body she replied,
“I do a lot of different types of workouts. Now I’m doing trapeze bungee jumping, and it is amazing. It’s kind of Cirque Du Soleil style, where I have the trapeze bar but I’m attached by bungees. Three minutes of the bungee trapeze is the equivalent of walking a mile. It’s intense. I do it for about a half hour at a place called Hollywood Aerial Arts in L.A. And here at the mansion, we set up a trapeze right in the backyard. It’s not bungee, but I’m able to get all of my strength training. I do shoulder shrugs, I hang upside down on the bar and do abs, which I’ve gotten really good at.”
She went on to give some further details about her trapeze and jump rope workouts:
“I try to keep it varied. My workout of choice would always be trapeze, because there are different things you can do when you’re doing that. I do trapeze for about an hour and 15 minutes to an hour and a half. When I work out at the gym at home, I try to keep it to usually an hour — maybe 45 minutes on the elliptical rider and then 15 minutes of abs and stretching. Jumping rope is more like a half-hour workout. I take about 15 minutes to do 500 jumps. If I throw in abs and 1,000 jumps, it’s about 45 minutes. It’s not something you have to do all at once. I usually do, like, 100 jumps, go answer a couple of e-mails, then come back and do another 100 jumps. You can’t do 1,000 jumps straight. I’m in pretty good shape, but I can do only maybe 300 at once and then I need a break. Once you build up your heart rate, then let it go down, then build it up again, that’s great for you. I’ve also found that stretching is important. Sometimes when I can’t get in a workout, if I just lay down on the floor or bed in the hotel room and just stretch a little bit, I feel so much better.”

It’s just a month long stint where she will be instructing Britons how to get their ‘bums and tums’ into shape as a part of the show’s effort to market a summer bikini diet workout plan.

Akerman is a supporter of the military-inspired fitness and conditioning program called, CrossFit. It’s a varied workout consisting of gymnastics, weight training and short but intense bouts of cardio. Akerman suggested,
“They have these CrossFit gyms where you have medicine balls, weight-lifting, rowing machines, [and] obstacle courses. I recommend going!”
She’s right. Intense interval training is an effective and efficient way to burn fat because it keeps the body guessing and it doesn’t get accustom to the same movements and heart rate. No pain, no gain!

Biggest Loser host, Alison Sweeney, did a quick video on Us Magazine showing some workout tips that can be done in the home. She also took a moment to promote the Ninentendo Wii EA Sports Active. In all honesty, it was a rather odd little video but at least we get to learn a few exercise pointers.
She filmed the video in a bathroom where she had a tiled floor surface for ease of movement. For the first exercise tip she stood on two folded hand towels and demonstrated sliding the legs open and closed in a scissor motion. Doing this repetitively creates a lot of resistance and is good for the inner and outer thighs.
