Lacey Schwimmer Reveals Battle with Anorexia

Mya’s DWTS Workout


Kelly Osbourne is not the only one who lost weight during the current season of Dancing With The Stars. The R&B singer Mya has also lost 11 pounds and a dress size while on the show. She originally lost 17 pounds but then gained back a few pounds of muscle as she continued training. So now the petite star weight only 127 pounds. This week, she told the readers of OK! Dancing With Stars Weight Loss

Hope everyone’s as excited about the premiere of season 9 of Dancing With The Stars as I am! It’s always amazing seeing the body transformations of some celebrities after the gruelling training they’re put through before a new season starts.

Denise Richards gained 10 pounds after her mother died, but the actress went from a size 26 to a 24-inch jeans after just 6 weeks training for season 8 of the dance contest. In the same season, rapper Lil’ Kim slimmed down and her fuller figure became more toned.

Professional dancers Cheryl Burke and Lacey Schwimmer, who have been with the show since season 2 and 7 respectively, both lost 10 pounds after partnering with their celebs.

Kelly Osbourne’s Weight Loss on Dancing with the Stars

Reality star Kelly Osbourne has been in training for Dancing with the Stars for only three weeks and so far she has already lost 14 pounds. The 24-year-old has had quite the public battle with her weight over the years so she’s obviously feeling good about herself considering she has gone from a size 12/14 to a size 8/10. She told Closer Magazine,

“By the end of it I’ll be a lean, mean machine. It’s so amazing, I’ve tried so many stupid fad diets to try to lose weight, when all I needed to do was start dancing.”

Mya 11 Pound Weight Loss on DWTS

Mya, the Grammy-winning R&B singer is on the upcoming season of Dancing With The Stars.  She recently told US Magazine that she lost 11 pounds in two months while dancing in rehearsals.  She said,
“I was 138 before I started dancing, then with pre-training with cardio, I came down to 132,”
She compared prepping for DWTS to boot camp where one has to rest, eat properly and focus in order to keep up.  This season the producers are only allowing the dance couples to rehearse up to five hours a day because of injuries in the past season.  For example, Jewel and Nancy O’Dell had to leave the competition early.  But still, five hours is a lot of dancing which explains why Mya has lost weight so quickly.  She also said that she bacame a vegetarian two months ago but she is being careful not to deprive herself in order to keep up with the five hour workouts.  She said,
“My weight may change after I stuff my face!” she jokes. “My weakness is the pasta and the rice!”
DWTS premieres on September 21 and Mya will be dancing with Dmitry Chaplin.

Celebrities such as Marie Osmond and Marissa Jaret Winokur have said that being a contestant on Dancing with the Stars has helped them lose weight.  There’s now a dancing celebrity, Kelly Osbourne, who has decided to be on the show for the upcoming season and she too plans on getting in shape.  She told Ryan Seacrest this week during his radio show that she’s actually terrified to be on the program but she’s ready for the challenge.  She explained,
“I’m not very graceful, so it’s just something that absolutely terrifies me, and it’s the main reason that I kind of wanted to do it. I wanted to do something different. I wanted to do something that scared me, and I don’t think anything could scare me more.”
Kelly went on to explain that she’s not too concerned about winning but that she wants to do something that she’s scared to do and that she is excited about losing weight.  She said,
“My body is going to get sick and be toned.”
Other celebrities for season 9 of the show include Kathy Ireland, Donny Osmond, Melissa Joan Hart and Aaron Carter.
