Jennifer Lopez just turned 40 last week and she still looks gorgeous. In February 2008 she dropped 50 pounds after giving birth to her twins and she has kept the weight off and still looks like ‘Jenny from the Block.’ Her trainer Gunnar Peterson gave In Touch Magazine the exclusive on what Jennifer does to stay in shape. He began by saying that she’s a hard worker and no matter how busy she is, she’ll always find time to squeeze in a workout. He said,

“She isn’t afraid to push herself in the gym. She’s not somebody who blows it off because she’s working 18-hour days on the set. She finds a way to get back in, even if it means exercising really late at night.”

Peterson told the magazine that she will work out for at least an hour two to six days a week. She will do a 10-minute warm-up and then a series of high-intensity cardio paired with strength and resistance moves. Jennifer has said in the past,

“I do weights and cardio, but I try to take a soft, feminine approach.”

Peterson also revealed that the songstress/actress uses the meal delivery service, Freshology, and sticks to 1,200 to 1,400 calories a day. And like all good celebrities she is sure to eat lean proteins, fruits, vegetables, good fats and lowglycemic carbs.

Gunnar Peterson also trains

Former Spice Girl, Mel B is currently working on the Las Vegas Stage Review, Peepshow. Needless to say, there are some barely-there outfits required for the stage from the looks of the photo above, but lucky for us she revealed to People Magazine how she’s staying in shape for the show. First off, she said that she relies on the food delivery service Freshology to get her daily dose of protein such as fish and chicken. The 33-year-old told People Magazine,

“I have to eat, and I’m addicted to quinoa.” But once a week, “I splurge on whatever I’m craving—either an In-and-Out cheeseburger or a traditional English Sunday roast.”

She has obviously been working out for years, but she did confess that those rock-hard abs of hers don’t come easily.

“I do half an hour of cardio and 200 sit-ups three times a day,” says the 5′5″ former Spice Girl, who now wears size 28 jeans. “I’ve always been obsessed with doing abs. I change positions every 10 reps. I like how quickly—if you stick to it—you can see results.”

Unfortunately, just this week Mel B announced she is ending her work on Peepshow.

Celeb Diet Doctor…
I highly recommend quinoa. High in protein and low glycemic this was the mother grain of the Incas. Substitute quinoa in your favorite rice dishes; you’ll love it. Just add 2 parts water to one part quinoa and cook till you can separate and fluff with a fork (about 20 minutes).
