Iron Man 2 The Workout

This week, Entertainment Tonight caught up with the cast of Iron Man 2 in an exclusive interview right on the movie set. Robert Downey Jr, Scarlett Johansson, Gwyneth Paltrow and many other cast members think that the next Iron Man installment is going to be a huge hit. During the interviews the cast also shed some light on their rigorous training for their roles in the movie. Robert Downey Jr had to work particularly hard because he had slimmed down for his role in the Sherlock Holmes movie and then put on 15 pounds of pure muscle for his role as Iron Man. He said he worked ’smartly and safely’ to gain the weight and it appears he’s a natural when it comes to exercise. He told ET,

“I love fitness, you know I love martial arts and choreography.”

Dancing Treadmill Workout

Celebrity trainer Tracy Anderson is not reinventing the wheel, she’s simply jazzing up the treadmill. For those who thought the bulky piece of gym equipment was only for walking and running, think again.

“I developed [this routine] so anyone can take my method anywhere,” Anderson told Maggie Rodriguez on CBS’ The Early Show. “I don’t like it when people use the treadmill in the same way over and over and over because that creates bulk.”

Gwyneth Paltrow has just finished yet another detox program. The 36-year-old actress, who has been practising yoga for 20 years and loves Tracy Anderson’s dance workout, is still on a mission to share her healthy-living lifestyle with her fans through her website, GOOP.

In her latest GOOP newsletter she wrote:

“Designed by New York cardiologist and detoxification specialist Dr. Alejandro Junger, this program allowed me to work and exercise regularly, something I cannot do if I am on a liquid-only detox. I followed it to the letter and I can report that it worked wonders. I feel pure and happy and much lighter (I dropped the extra pounds that I had gained during a majorly fun and delicious ‘relax and enjoy life phase’ about a month ago). How did Gwyneth Paltrow get the new curves she’s seen sporting on the December cover of Gotham Magazine? Paltrow, whose latest film, Two Lovers, comes out in February, says she owes it all to celebrity trainer and friend Tracy Anderson. The pair have been working together for 2 years, since shortly after the birth of Paltrow’s son Moses.

“It got me to really move my body again. Especially doing the dance aerobics and sweating out all those hormones,” says Paltrow, who boasts that she lost 11 inches in the first 10 days of working out with Anderson. So what is it that makes Anderson’s workouts different from other celebrity trainers? According to Paltrow, she uses a new and more versatile kind of Pilates machine that guarantees results. She also designs a custom exercise program for each client. “A certain number of arm, abdominal, and leg exercises, all done on the machine” and that changes every 10 days”, says Paltrow.
