<p>If there&#8217;s one thing we can all learn from <a href="http://www.celebritydietdoctor.com/hillary-duff-diet-and-workout/#more-201">Hilary Duff</a>, it&#8217;s discipline – it seems the 21-year-old actress and singer can&#8217;t get enough of the <a href="http://www.celebritydietdoctor.com/?s=pilates">Pilates</a> classes at her West Hollywood gym, V Pilates. Paparazzi photographs of the former gymnast leaving her gym have been circulating on the Internet for the past few weeks, with one pap even posting the above video.</p>
<p><span id="more-3624"></span>While the natural beauty refused to comment on the specifics of her workout in the video, we&#8217;ve learned she also does hour-long sessions in her LA home four times a week. Hilary uses a reformer machine and concentrates on her lower body, with 20 different leg and butt drills and 5 different abdominal drills.</p>
<p>But the pop-tart also loves Piloxing – a cross between Pilates and boxing. Her Piloxing trainer Viveca Jensen talks a little about the workouts and Hilary&#8217;s favorite moves:</p>

<p>Hilary will make a guest appearance on the hit teen show <em>Gossip Girl</em> in October as Olivia Burke, a movie star seeking a normal college experience (art imitating life perhaps?). Fortunately it&#8217;s not a recurring role, so Hilary won&#8217;t have to worry about missing too many of her Pilates classes.</p>

<p><strong>Hilary became Scary Skinny</strong><br />
Driven by media scrutiny, she become &#8220;obsessed,&#8221; following a strict protein and vegetable diet.  She recalls &#8220;you stress out about being in a bathing suit.&#8221;  Hilary lost weight only to have the media speculate that she was too skinny.  &#8220;Everybody speculates that you&#8217;re not eating or are doing drugs.  You&#8217;re damned if you do, and you&#8217;re dammed if you don&#8217;t&#8221; she says.</p>
<p><strong>Hilary Duff Diet Plan</strong><br />
Her diet consists of greens, fresh fruit and lean protein.</p>
<p><em><strong>Breakfast</strong></em>- Kashi cereal with 2 percent milk (or an egg-white omelet with Feta cheese) and a latte made with 2 percent milk.<br />
<em><strong>Lunch </strong></em>- Grilled chicken Caesar salad with 1 tablespoon of reduced-fat dressing (or grilled ahi tuna salad with balsamic vinaigrette dressing)<br />
<em><strong>Dinner</strong></em> &#8211; Tuna steak, grilled veges and couscous (she also loves sushi)<br />
<em><strong>Snack</strong></em> &#8211; Handful of mixed nuts (or an apple and Brie cheese)  She also indulges in chips and salsa.</p>
<p><strong>Hilary Duff Workout</strong><br />
Hilary was a former gymnast and says she had a tendency to bulk up with exercise.  &#8220;I couldn&#8217;t just go to the gym like my friends and lift weights.  I would get these muscles in my legs.  I felt boyish.&#8221;  Her solution to developing long lean muscles is Pilates workouts with Viveca Jensen of LA&#8217;s V Pilates.</p>
<p><em><strong>Pilates</strong></em> &#8211; At home she does hour long workouts on Pilates reformer machines 4 times a week.  She concentrates on her lower body with 32 reps each of 20 different leg and butt exercises and 5 different ab exercises.<br />
<em><strong>Swimming</strong></em> &#8211; While touring she swims, alternating 7 laps each of freestyle, breast, butterfly and sidestroke daily.</p>
<p><strong>Celebrity Diet Doctor Weigh in</strong><br />
Ditching the junk food for a strict greens and protein diet she lost too much weight.  She also hints that her exercise may have been excessive during this period when she weighed an estimated 100 lbs on a 5 foot 2 inch frame.  She&#8217;s since added a variety of veggies and fruits to her diet and looks great at a healthy 109 lbs.  Hilary sums it up best, &#8220;I&#8217;m in a really good place.&#8221;</p>
