American Idol winner, Jordan Sparks, has been on a whirlwind of a summer tour. And after a couple of months of sweating it out on stage the young songstress is super fit and sporting a slim figure. She told Ok! Magazine,
“I’m literally drenched every night when I get off the set because the stage for this world tour I’m on is so massive. I’m constantly moving, and I do have my trainer out on tour with me this time around. He just got here last week, and it’s been a lot of fun. Any time I find time – or I’m not sleeping – he’s like ‘let’s work out, let’s do something.’ I’m like ‘nooo,’ but he gets my butt up and I’ve gotta do it. It’s fun to do that.”
Her trainer has mixed up her routine so that her muscles are always guessing as to what’s going to happen next. She explained,
“We do a whole bunch of different things,” the Arizona native says. “He doesn’t keep the same thing every time, so he shocks the body so you’re running, you’re doing throw-downs, you’re doing stairs, you’re doing lunges. I’ve done all of those in the past four days, and I will tell you that my butt hurts very badly.”
Jordin also mentioned that she hasn’t changed her diet and she doesn’t deprive herself of any good tasting foods. She’s simply careful about portion size.

American Idol winner Jordin Sparks is gearing up for her cross-country summer tour with the Jonas Brothers. She told Self magazine that last summer she didn’t keep up an exercise regimen and she noticed the change in her health and performances. But this time around in 2009 she has a different plan. She said,
“Last year, I didn’t do anything to stay in shape on tour,” Jordin confesses. “I just kind of loved the fact that I was on tour. But I was exhausted all the time, and I realize now, if I had worked out and ate healthier and made smarter choices, I would have had a lot more energy onstage.”
The most important change she’ll be making is having a personal trainer on hand to keep her on a fitness schedule, not necessarily to be skinny but to be healthy:
“I actually, for the first time in my life, asked to have a trainer…. It’s cool to be able to look in the mirror and see the tone and muscle now–even though it’s not what I was going for, just being healthy is an amazing thing.”
Jordin also mentioned that getting up in the morning and getting her workouts done will help her energy levels:
“Getting up and getting out of bed, that’s the hardest part,” the star admits. “I cherish the time when I actually get to sleep! So I just tell myself I know I’ll feel so much better, and I know that if I start my day like that, I’m more like to get other things done, too, instead of putting them off.”
As for music, Jordin said that anything by Kanye West keeps her moving and motivated during workouts.
