Kevin Federline went from K-Fed to K-Fat in a matter of weeks, gaining a hefty 240 pounds after his highly-publicized divorce from pop star Britney Spears. The former dancer has since lost the excess pounds after a stint on Celebrity Fat Club, which premiers on VH1 this Monday February 8 at 9pm.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Kevin says he was shocked when he saw the notorious photographs of him on the golf course – he actually thought they were photoshopped!

“When I saw this picture, I did not think that I was that big,” he told the tabloid entertainment TV show. “I thought it was Photoshopped. You know? And, then I realized that I was just letting myself go.”

Kevin jumped at the chance to appear on the reality weight-loss TV show and credits his kids as his main motivation.

“I still ran around with them a little bit but not as much as I do now,” Kevin says in the interview. “It was easier to eat more when they were younger because they weren’t as active. Now all of them want to play sports, hit the T-ball and run around the backyard and ride bikes. I could barely make it up the hill on the side of my house.”

Valentine’s Day (February 14th) is the premiere of Celebrity Fit Club: Boot Camp and we can’t wait to get a gander at the new and improved Kevin Federline. It’s ironic the premier is on the day for lovers because this week Federline told Access Hollywood that it was his struggles with ex-wife Britney Spears that led to his depression and eventual weight gain. He said,

“Everybody knows what happened with me and Brit,” he says. “I’m not going to say that’s the total cause of it but, I mean, just not being happy with myself was probably the main part of my depression.”

He explained that once the depression set in he didn’t feel like doing anything, so he gained weight, which depressed him more, and it was just like a vicious cycle. Federline has now slimmed down and he says that both he and Britney are in a good place. He’s happy for her and her touring and he’s happy with how his life is now too.

The next season of Celebrity Fit Club doesn’t air until January but it’s obvious that Kevin Federline is dramatically slimmer. Last week he was spotted playing golf in Los Angeles (see photo above) and reports claim he’s lost approximately 50 pounds. In early 2009 he shocked all of us by sporting a fat physique having gained 85 pounds while dealing with the stress of ex-wife Britney Spears and their custody battles. He’s now got his life back on track and Federline’s ex-girlfriend Shar Jackson, who was also a participant on the weight loss show, recently told US Magazine,

“I think everybody will be very, very shocked to see the end results.”

She also mentioned that they survived a brutal boot camp on the show. Celebrity Fit Club may or may not ignite Federline’s fizzling career, but at least he looks better now and is notably healthier.

Although Kevin Federline hasn’t had his debut as a contestant on Celebrity Fit Club, he has already begun his battle against the bulge. According to OK! Magazine, he has a whole team of people who are helping him. He has a personal trainer making sure he exercises daily, a group that buys his groceries to ensure he gets his fruits and veggies and he also has a doctor that is monitoring his progress. One source said that Federline wants to lose weight slowly,

“He’s under a doctor’s supervision for slow, progressive weight loss, and that takes time.”

The source went on to explain that Federline’s weight gain wasn’t something that happened over night but it was because of the long and drawn out stresses he had while dealing with ex-wife, Britney Spears. Between custody hearings and the fear of the unknown he packed on the pounds in response. Now that the custody battle is over and the couple split custody 50-50, Federline is now ready to lose the weight. Celebrity Fit Club will start in February 2010.

Kevin Federline, the dancer turned rapper and ex-husband of Britney Spears, is at an all time high with his weight.  Over the past few months we heard rumors that he was going to endorse the weight loss product EP-2, or that he was on a six-meal-a-day diet, but obviously he hasn’t lost an ounce of weight from the looks of this photo.

However, things are about to change for Federline as he is joining the cast of Celebrity Fit Club, and the news was confirmed by VH1 to People Magazine.

What’s odd is that his ex-girlfriend (who is also the father of his first two children) Shar Jackson, will also be on the seventh season of the show. That will definitely make for some good reality TV drama. Other celebrity graduates of the show include Ross Matthews, Tiffany and Kimberly Locke.

Here, at Celebrity Diet Doctor, we’ve been keeping a close eye on Kevin Federline and his bulging “daddy bump”. Since divorcing pop tart Britney Spears (who is looking mighty fine herself right now), the former backup dancer has piled on the pounds – blaming his rotund figure on the fact that he doesn’t have enough time to exercise because he’s always watching his kids.

Recently, Federline scored a multi-million-dollar EP-2 endorsement to promote the weight loss supplement. But producers of the roly-poly star’s new VH1 show have ordered him to lose 45 pounds, immediately. Luckily for Federline, he’s enlisted the help of celeb trainer Chris Cormier, who’s put the star on a strict six-meal-a-day diet.

“He eats every three hours,” Cormier said in an interview with RadarOnline.com. “That breaks down to six meals a day, which helps speed up the metabolism.”

Here’s the breakdown of Cormier’s plan (as told to RadarOnline.com):
Meal 1 (Breakfast): 1 cup of oatmeal, 1 teaspoon of peanut butter, 6-8 oz of orange juice, 6 egg whites and 1 protein shake.
Meal 2 (Lunch): 1/2 of a barbecued chicken, fresh broccoli and a side of brown rice.
Meal 3: One 8 oz steak, and all the green veggies he can eat.
Meal 4: Fresh fish – preferably grilled or steamed salmon and more broccoli.
Meal 5: 1/2 of a barbecued chicken and veggies.
Meal 6: Because Federline likes to eat out, he needs to order something from the menu that replaces one of his earlier healthy meals: fish, chicken or steak with a side of vegetables.

In addition, Cormier doesn’t allow Federline to eat after 10pm, but if he’s really hungry he can snack on egg whites and non-fat plain yoghurt. Cormier also makes sure his client drinks a gallon and a half of water every day.

It appears that Kevin Federline has finally found himself another source of income.  Even though he gets $20,000 a month from Britney Spears since their divorce he hasn’t had a job in ages and considering his lavish lifestyle he had to find something.  So after putting on heaps of weight he has scored a deal to endorse the weight loss products EP-2 (Extreme Physical Performance).  How much does a has-been back-up dancer earn for endorsing a  weight loss product? $2.5 million dollars! Yes, Federline’s long-running battle with the bulge will soon be over thanks to a fat burning supplement and a $2.5 million dollar check.

As for the company EP-2 they make sports supplements primarily for body building and shaping.  Some of their products include Muscle Pump, Muscle Growth, Anabeutrol and Andritest.  EP-2 partnered with INDUS Biotech to create the patented bioactive compounds and supposedly their secret ingredient can’t be found anywhere on the planet.  (That’s what the website claims)  Does that mean they have their own space shuttle and their going to another planet to get the secret weight loss ingredient?  What will they think of next?

This past year Britney Spears got herself back into shape and she’s now dancing up a storm while on tour.  However, her ex-husband Kevin Federline has obviously packed on the pounds and appears to be borderline obese.  According to In Touch Weekly Magazine, Kevin has been asked to be a spokesman for the NutriSystem Men’s Plan program.  Kevin’s friends are estimating that he has gained approximately 40 pounds.  One friend said,

“Kevin wants to lose weight, and he needs to make money. He’s seriously thinking it over.”

However, a representative for Federline is denying the rumors, but perhaps that’s because they are holding out for more money.  He obviously won’t be getting any dancing gigs anytime soon!  Be it NutriSystem, Jenny Craig or some good old-fashioned calisthenics, Federline needs to do something fast.
