Lauren Conrad on Diet and Dating

Hills reality star Lauren Conrad is on the cover of the September issue of Self magazine.  Inside, she gives great tips on dressing right and working out.  Amusingly enough she mentioned that she’s getting soft around the middle because she has been dating someone lately.  By the looks of the photo above there is nothing ’soft’ visible to the human eye but she sees things differently.  She said,
“I call it the ‘boyfriend layer’,” she tells the magazine. “We were having more romantic dinners out, and I was exercising less.”
Likewise, Lauren took action by getting her boyfriend Kyle active and she will often times ask if he wants to go workout claiming that it’s better than going alone.  In addition the couple spends time doing lots of outdoor activities.  She said,
“We like doing outdoor stuff: tennis, bike riding, kayaking, stand-up surfing, hiking in the canyons around L.A..”
As for Lauren’s tips on dressing she suggested to look for silhouettes that highlight your best features.  Currently, she is designing a fashion line for Kohl’s that will supposedly be flattering and good for every body shape.  Her line will be out in October.

Lauren Conrad and Lo Bosworth on Exercise

The two best friends of The Hills, Lauren Conrad and Lo Bosworth recently told PopSugar about their diet and exercise habits as roommates.  They are both in picture-perfect shape so obviously they are doing something right.  Firstly, they said that they housemates are all supporters of organic foods and they try to incorporate that into their daily diet, especially since they like to cook at home.  However, when it comes to exercise they have two very different opinions.  They recently went to a spin class together and Lauren said,
“and I hate it. I prefer boxing or hiking, more fun activities.”
Lo Bosworth on the other hand enjoyed herself.  She responded,
“I love it though. I think it’s just important to keep it varied so you don’t hit a plateau.”
Spinning can be a lot of hard work, it’s a real shock to the system.  However, boxing and hiking are also two great physical activities, it may just take a bit longer to get results if you’re trying to lose weight quickly.
