The most recent NutriSystem success story is that of Mike Golic, the co-host of ESPN Radio’s Mike and Mike in the Morning and a former NFL defensive line player.  A few years ago he topped the scales at 300 pounds and he decided it was time to make a change:

“Ultimately, I needed to lose weight because I’m a real family guy. I have three kids and a beautiful wife, and I just love spending time with them and being involved with their lives. I want to be around them, and the way things were going, it wasn’t going to happen.”

Then after he lost the weight he quoted as a NutriSystem spokesman saying,

“The best thing about NutriSystem is that it’s real food.  Now after losing 51 pounds I feel good about myself.”

However, just this month he was caught saying some not so nice things about the NutriSystem foods, and one has to wonder if the company will keep him on as a spokesperson.  He said he liked the breakfast bars but he didn’t like the dinners nor the small portion sizes.  He was even caught on camera saying,

“Some of it’s awful.”

Other stars that have served as NutriSystem spokespersons are Marie Osmond and Belinda Carlisle.

Not surprising to hear this. I somehow doubt that Marie Osmond, Valerie Bertinelli and other famous NutriSystem spokespeople would actually eat this stuff as they have access to personal chefs, nutritionists etc. If you want real food go to the grocery store and avoid the packaged foods! Real food does not come in a pouch, in a microwaveable container, or in a 100 calorie pack.
