Tracy Anderson’s Arm Workout – A Cure for Flabby Arms?

Celebrity trainer Tracy Anderson may have lost her most famous client Madonna after the two had a falling out, but that hasn’t stopped others like Gwyneth Paltrow, Courtney Cox and Kristin Davis from singing her praises.

“Many of you may already know of my passion for the Tracy Anderson Method and my investment in it,” Gwyneth says in her latest GOOP newsletter. “She has kicked my formerly sagging ass into shape and I will be forever grateful.”

In the video above Tracy demonstrates the arm workout Gwyneth did to whip her guns into shape for the Iron Man movie. But further in the newsletter Gwyneth also gets some of Tracy’s clients to sing her praises too. [Read more →]

Over the past few months Madonna has been criticized for her seeming obsession with fitness. And who could blame the media? Dancing Treadmill Workout

Celebrity trainer Tracy Anderson is not reinventing the wheel, she’s simply jazzing up the treadmill. For those who thought the bulky piece of gym equipment was only for walking and running, think again.

“I developed [this routine] so anyone can take my method anywhere,” Anderson told Maggie Rodriguez on CBS’ The Early Show. “I don’t like it when people use the treadmill in the same way over and over and over because that creates bulk.”

Madonna’s Arms

They may not be weapons of mass destruction but more and more female celebrities are showing off their guns and are proud of it.  Michelle Obama was the first to be lauded as she has a tendency to wear tank and sleeveless dresses that show off her great triceps.  Brooke Shields gave a tearful speech at Michael Jackson’s funeral and instead of getting credited for her speech, the media decided to praise her toned arms that she flashed while presenting on stage.  Last but not least, we’ve got Madonna who has been under fire because of her sinewy arms that her personal trainer Tracy Anderson claims is a result of too much yoga.
A body composition specialist told the Daily Mail that Madonna’s look is a result of having lifted heavy weights in the past but is now on a different workout routine that uses less weight but her body is trying to keep that old muscle.  He explained,
“Even if she’s using lower weights now, she’s still using her muscles enough to warrant her body keeping them.  Her new regime of one hour of cardio work will reduce her body fat level, which is why she’s so defined and you can see her muscles and veins. Even if she is using only her own body weight during exercising (such as doing push ups), it is still a form of resistance training. It won’t build her muscles to the optimum, but it will keep them as they are.”
As for Madonna’s current training with Tracy Anderson they do an hour of cardio as well as an hour of pilates-style muscle toning and Tracy never goes above a 3-pound weight.  But considering the arm portion of training is about 30 minutes and the fact that Madonna has such low body fat the result is what you see in the photo above.
Be it the First Lady, Brooke Shields or Madonna these three women look great.  They are healthy, they exercise and eat right.  Maybe it’s time the media stop worrying about the celebrities’ arms and instead be more concerned about real guns and weapons in the community and how that’s effecting society.

Tracy Anderson Gives Diet And Exercise Tips

Last week Tracy Anderson, the fitness trainer for Madonna and Gwyneth Paltrow, gave some fitness advice to the ladies of Wales about eating properly and getting exercise.  She did start off by saying that anyone could look like Madonna and not by being a gym hog.  Yes Madonna does work out 2 hours a day 6 days a week but Tracy explained that’s because the performer has to be super-fit for the rigorous dance and choreography she does on stage.

Tracy Anderson, the fitness trainer to Madonna and Gwyenth Paltrow, is rapidly gaining celebrity status as her fitness empire grows.  She continues to produce work for Ms. Paltrow, release DVDs, she will open a gym soon, and now she has new webisodes for sale on her fitness website. There are three webisodes that focus on a body part; arms, abs, and butt and thighs. They are meant to be a compliment to her existing DVD series but these can be uploaded to your laptop or ipod so that there is never an excuse for not getting a quick workout in.
