Extreme 800 Calorie Diet – Warning!

Extreme circumstances call for extreme measures, but would you subject yourself to a very low-calorie diet of between just 500 and 800 calories a day? Samantha Clowe, a 34-year-old British woman, died suddenly from a previously undiagnosed heart condition while she was on a Very Low Calorie Diet (VLCD) called Lighter Life where she was consuming 530 calories a day.  The VLCD is an extreme diet for obese and seriously overweight individuals who are supervised by doctors or clinics within a special program, and is not designed for dieters who only want to lose a few pounds.

Increase Your Exercise by 600% with Dogs vs the Gym

Who doesn’t love dogs? They’re man’s best friend, great companions and all that walking and running around we do with them outside really does pay off. And apparently it could pay off more than a gym membership.

British pet care company Bob Martin put their theory to the test that owning a dog is more effective at motivating you to get some exercise than having a personal trainer. After speaking to 5 000 Britons – 3 000 of which are dig owners – the company learned that 57% saw walking a dog as their main form of exercise. Only 22% saw talking their pet for its daily walk as a chore compared to 70% who thought of going to gym as a chore. More than 75% admitted they would rather take their dog for a hike or walk than go to gym.

1 in 10 obese people don't think they're fat

Having a healthy body image is something Celebrity Diet Doctor advocates. But what happens when that image is over-inflated to the point of misperception? At the American Heart Association’s Scientific Sessions this month, research was presented indicating that some obese individuals truly believe their body size is normal and that they don’t need to lose weight.

In the Dallas Heart Study it was found that of the 2 056 obese participants, 8% did not think they were fat, were happy with their weight and in fact thought that they could actually stand to gain weight.
