Take That Robbie Williams and Gary Barlow Go on Diet

by Alice on March 28, 2011

Take That band-mates Robbie Williams and Gary Barlow are on a diet marathon, trying to see who can lose more weight until their next tour in May.

Apparently, their inspiration was Christian Bale’s astonishing 60 pounds weight loss for the Machinist. However, they’re not so keen on following the same strict regime as Bale’s, whose daily diet included some tuna, an apple and a cup of coffee.

“You know ‘The Machinist’ with Christian Bale? I’m going for Christian Bale,” joked Robbie.

Robbie confessed that the whole losing weight challenge began when Gary revealed he was on a diet to shed the pounds he’s gained since Christmas.

“Gary and the boys were at my house in Los Angeles last week when Gary turns to me and says, ‘I won’t be needing these clothes soon, do you want them?’ “That was the day I thought, ‘Right, if you’re eating a lettuce, I’m eating half a lettuce’,” Robbie explained.

Take That band-mates are actually trying to get fit for their Progress Live tour in May. To achieve that, each of them has hired a different personal trainer and a nutritionist to help them shed some serious pounds and get in shape.

This is not Gary’s first attempt to lose weight. At the begining of this year, he revealed he’s on a diet and workout regime to lose the weight he’s gained after the Take That band split back in 1996. Apparently, he’s determined to give it one more shot and what better way to get results other that entering a competition?
