The inside skinny... on The Krispy Kreme whole wheat glazed doughnut

The Krispy Kreme whole wheat glazed doughnut

Krispy Kreme launched a “whole wheat donut” earlier this year. Incredibly it is being pitched by the company as an “alternative for health conscious consumers with the benefits of 100% whole wheat and only 180 calories.” Hmmm… Seems like they forgot to mention that their “healthier” donut also comes packed with 3.5 grams of transfats and 10 grams of refined sugar.

Whole wheat is still refined flour. It’s not whole grain by any means.

Nice try but it’s stillll fried.
That’s like milk chocolate and sprinkle covered bananas. or something.. whole grains are good, yes, but not when deep fried and smothered in sugary icing. 180 calories, ok not bad, you should get about 400 at breakfast.. but as if that one doughnut will fill you up.
