The O2 Diet Book: Get Those Antioxidants

The O2 Diet book has only been on the market for a couple of months but it’s proving to be a good pick for those wanting a healthy and sensible diet option. The author, Keri Glassman, is a nutritionist that advises Ok! magazine, she’s a contributor for CBS’s The Early Show and she has a huge following of supporters in the media industry that have supported her work.

The book is officially titled, The O2 Diet: The Cutting Edge Antioxidant-Based Program That Will Make You Healthy, Thin, and Beautiful.  The O2 Diet includes a 4-day cleanse to get things started and then there is a 4-week antioxidant-based program that will help you loose weight, improve skin tone, prevent cancer and heart disease, increase memory, increase energy and the list goes on and on. The diet is based on the ORAC (Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity) scale, a calculus developed by the USDA that measures how well a food protects against free radicals. So the book is full of antioxidant-rich food ideas, real-world options for eating out, recipes, and even some pampering and stress reduction tips.

Celeb Diet Doc Says…
Appears to be another gimmick type diet book based on the ORAC scale the attempts to rank foods based on their antioxidant content. Don’t get too hung up on “counting things” such as fat, carbs, protein, glycemic index or antioxidant content. All of these including the ORAC scale have serious pitfalls. The key is too eat as much unrefined fruits and veggies.. and forget the math!
