Zoe Saldana on Eating Healthy and Working Out

by Betsy on Celebs on May 5, 2010

The Star Trek and Avatar queen, Zoe Saldana, has an amazing body. Apart from her Pilates and dance workouts to keep in shape she also strives to make fitness and health a lifestyle choice. When she finished her training with Steve Moyer for Avatar it was Steve who reminded her that even though filming was over, she still had to be mindful of her health because he thought she had dropped off the exercise too much. She said,

“He [Steve Moyer} was right, you really have to nurture your body,” she explains. “I have a lot of respect for people who do it, because it’s a lifestyle.”

Zoe also thinks that having a healthy lifestyle isn’t just so that your body looks good but also the brain is sharper and emotions are in check. Likewise, she is sure to always exercise and be healthy even if she goes to do a film in some exotic location and all she wants to do is eat the local food. But she strives to stay in top form in order to perform well. She explained,

“If I start in an unhealthy state, I’m going to feel twice as guilty. And I like to give myself the opportunity to really have fun.”
